U20 – Reputation / Crafting Instance Gear & Items

In update 20 (U20) we enter The Wastes on our journey toward The Black Gate. Three new reputation factions are introduced;
- Host of the West: Weapons
- Host of the West: Armour
- Host of the West: Provisions
- Host of the West
You can gain reputation items by completing the new daily Crafting Instances [Tower of the Teeth / Skoironk] and chest rewards (note: you must barter for lock-picks from the Herbalists in advance to open the chest), via mob drops within the crafting instances, and crafting items that can be bartered with the Host of the West factions. You can barter the reputation items for cosmetics, pets, emotes, housing items, jewellery, armour, weapons, shields, and upgrades to the Throne of the Dread Terror armour.
It is a two step process to barter for the new items; first you must gain enough reputation in order to trade with the barter vendors and then you have to have enough of the resource currency to trade for the items. Each level of reputation; Friend, Ally, and Kindred will unlock the ability to barter for different/better stuff and each of the barterers offer unique items.

Recipes Via Mob Drops
You can obtain recipes via random mob drops in the fellowship and solo crafting instances as well as from landscape mobs in Narchost and Lang Rhuven. These recipes are the same as the barter ones.
Resource Items Via Crafting Instances (Solo / Fellowship)
Within the two new daily crafting instances (Tower of Teeth and Skoironk) you can obtain rep items via mob drops, quest completion, and an optional chest (you must have lock-picks to open the chest). Lock-picks are obtained by bartering flowers (20 Violet Extracts and 20 Golden Extracts) with the Herbalist. You must do this BEFORE you start the daily or you will be unable to open the chest.
In addition to rep you can also get crafting recipes (single use), crafting mats, and several items that can be sold for gold or Task Items.
Both of the dailies are gated behind quest chains. You must complete quests out of The Camp of the Host that will unlock quests in the Slag Hills that will unlock quests in Lang Rhuven, that will unlock quests within the Tower of Teeth and Skoironk (note these are not the dailies). Once the intro ToT and Skoironk quests have been completed the dailies will be unlocked.
