105 Two Slot Essence Gear – Drop Locations
For characters level 100 and higher, the Featured Instance can be accessed through the Instance Finder Specific Tab and will award extra rewards once daily (per character) for completing the listed instance at 100-104 and 105. The Featured Instance will change weekly at 3am EST Monday.

It appears as though Turbine has finally found a way to effectively recycle some older content by “featuring” an instance for one week at a time. During the time that the instance is featured the rewards are better than normal. In addition, there is an Amethyst Box of Spoils awarded to each person in the group. Inside this box there could be essence recipes, featured armour, long-lost coins, etc.
From doing an instance level of 100-104 you will receive a Grey Box of Spoils and from 105 a “Coloured” Box of Spoils. Each box contains 5 Long-Lost Coins, so you can earn 10 per day.
“In the next few dot updates, this will be expanded to let you trade in extra Featured Instance gear that you don’t want with a few Long-lost Coins to get the pieces that you’re missing.”
ARMOUR PIECES
The following table outlines the known drop locations of the 2 slotted essence armour pieces (work in progress). The pieces can drop even when the particular instance is not the Featured Instance of the week, the chance will just be less. The chance of these dropping (from best to worst) Featured T2C > Featured T2 > Featured T1 > T2C > T2 > T1.
From the Challenge Chest (T2C) you can get any of the 6 pieces of armour, however from the Box of Spoils only 2 pieces are possible.

Crimson – Chest or Gloves
Azure – Chest or Boots
Malachite – Legs or Gloves
Amethyst – Shoulders or Boots
Marigold – Head or Shoulders
Obsidian – Head or Legs

JEWELRY
The two slot essence jewelry drops in all of the Featured Instances whether they are currently featured or not. You can get any of the Earring, Necklace, Rings or Bracelets. This has lead to people farming these instances over and over. The chance of these dropping (from best to worst) Featured T2C > Featured T2 > Featured T1 > T2C > T2 > T1.
