U23 Beta – New Gear & Essences (SPOILERS)
U23 is currently on the Bullroarer test server. As of the second week (BR2) this is a look at the new gear and essences thus far. Keep in mind that this is beta; things could (and likely will) change by the time it hits live.
“We’re making changes to the gear in the boxes for the next Bullroarer. The highest they can have will be 370 incomparable gear. Essences will also come down. The Tier 2 instance gear hasn’t been shown yet as well. ” – Redpanda
Note: This is only a look at the gear / essences from the barterable Coffer of Heroic xx Boxes and Incomparable Coffer of Heroic Essences and T1 content. There will be gear drops from the new instances at T2 and T3 as well gear from Hero Steel-Bound Lootboxes (opened with Black Keys) and crafting that are not yet posted here.
“Ashes of Enchantment” will be renamed to “Motes of Enchantment” and cover gear up to 115. A new Tier of ash called “Embers of Enchantment” will be introduced for levels 116-120. 500 Embers of Enchantment (obtainable by ashing newer gear, running instances and using black steel keys to open Heroic loot-boxes) can be used to barter for the Heroic gear and essence boxes shown below. Note: The gear in these boxes scales based on your character level so ideally should be opened at level cap.
You can barter 500 Motes of Enchantment for any of the below Heroic Boxes or Essence Boxes:
Note: These are just a the Purple essences. Likely there will be Teal and Gold versions too.

It has been fascinating to read all of the doom and gloom postings in the Bullroarer Forum — all about the things missing from Build 1 – as if there would not be another build in the future.
So far Andang’s video tours (YouTube) have been very well done, and the scenery is georgous – familiar to us Dwarves, yet different.
If you want spoilers, Arkanur’s Dwarf-hold Deed list is the page to visit. As an Officer of the Children of Arda (Les Enfants d’Arda) kinship on Sirannon and Editor on the French Lotro-wiki (Lotro-wiki.fr), he has once again produced the difinitive list of Deeds and related things in the new Update replete with location maps. Obviously, a work in progress, But it contains a huge amount of information considering that Bullroarer was only up for what seemed like 24 or 36 hours!
I’m guessing that the problem with Motes of Enchantment and Embers of Enchantment is one of the main reasons why Build 1 was terminated.
Personally, I looking forward to info on T12 – Ironfold Crafting.
